It’s a bit of a tradition for Blizzard games to have a secret hidden level included and with this week’s launch of Diablo III that hidden level has been revealed as “Whimsyshire” where the hero encounters enemies that are flowers, teddy bears and unicorns in a world filled with rainbows. The unicorns looks a bit like My Little Pony characters.

Looking at the internal data of the game, the names that these unicorns have are sometimes similar to some My Little Pony names. Check out the full list below:

Midnight Sparkle is an obvious reference to Twilight Sparkle and Nightmarity bears some similarity to Rarity.

We’ve got more details about John de Lancie’s My Little Pony documentary that was announced at Ottawa Comiccon last weekend. The documentary will be called “BronyCon: The Documentary”. Check out this video introduction to the idea.

The documentary will be filmed at the BronyCon convention at the end of June near New York. John de Lancie will be front and center in the documentary, as he looks at the world of My Little Pony fans. If this succeeds, we could be looking at our fandom’s equivalent to Trekkies. The film will be directed by Laurent Malaquais and it’s executive producers are John de Lancie and Michael Brockhoff.

To raise money for the documentary the filmmakers have started a Kickstarter campaign which has already surpassed it’s goal of $60,000. Make a donation yourself to receive things like a copy of the film, a t-shirt and more.

Over the past few weeks some pretty great interviews have been done by the fine folks over at EverFree Radio. On May 2nd they interviewed Ashleigh Ball, the voice of Rainbow Dash and Applejack, and then on May 7th they interviewed Andrea Libman, the voice of Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie. That’s two interviews, and four of the six main ponies covered! Both Ashleigh and Andrea give some great insight into what it’s like to record the show in great interviews. I was at Ottawa Comiccon today where John de Lancie, the voice of Discord, made an annoucement. As we mentioned on our twitter page, he will be doing a documentary on Bronies, My Little Pony fans. He said he was bothered by how disrespectful the portrayal of fans has been in the media and wants to set the record straight.

It wasn’t specified to what extent De Lancie’s involvement will be. Is this his documentary? Will he narrate and star in it? It sounds like this could be the My Little Pony fandom’s version of Trekkies.

The now famous billboard in LA that has featured two previous My Little Pony themed billboards has a new treat for us! The MLP facebook page posted a picture of the billboard tribute to the Royal Wedding in Canterlot. The television event happening this weekend has been long hyped by The Hub and its mighty PR legion.

I was in attendance for PAX East 2012 last weekend and managed to grab this picture of a girl in a great Princess Celestia costume. I actually took one with a flash and one without so I included the flash picture below too.

Last year Stephen Colbert gave a shout out to My Little Pony fans. In last night’s show, April 9th 2012, he has done it again as he gives a shout out to “all my Bronies”. He goes on to say that he doesn’t know what it means, but that there are some excited nieces out there.

A poster at the AnandTech message board shares his full account of what lead to the shout out. As he explains, the topic of bronies came up during the warm up, and he mentioned that his niece was into the show.

mc chris has released a great My Little Pony song for his fans this April fools day. He also transformed his website as well as his facebook and twitter pages to be My Little Pony themed.

DerpyHoovesNews.com has a screenshot of what mc chris’s site looked like on the 1st. His site is currently down, likely due to heavy traffic following this stunt.

Today’s Fox Trot comic is a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic reference. The comic includes Pinkie Pie, Applejack and Twilight Sparkle. The joke is that Game of Thrones crosses over with My Little Pony. Game of Thrones just played, and naturally no such thing happened. If you like the comic, you might want to get a print.

Could Bill Amend be a My Little Pony fan? Is Fox Trot the only funny comic still printed in newspapers? Who knows…
